Giclee

A giclee refers to both a category of collectible fine art similar to lithographs, as well as, a type of digitally created fine art print. Not any digital print is a giclee however, only digital prints that are created on special high resolution printers utilizing archival inks, media and strict printmaking standards.

The Giclée technology provides incredible detail and color quality. The resolution (DPI or dots per inch) is actually higher than traditional lithography (1440 dpi inkjet vs. 133 litho.). This allows  adjustment of  color, contrast, brightness, and color saturation until the final reproduction matches the artist's original.

Our canvas prints are made by printing directly on the canvas with the Giclee method. After printing the surface is sealed with an ultra-violet UV & and humidity protective transparent coating. Canvas doesn't need to be framed with protective glass so the image can be seen clearly without bothersome glares. The natural texture of the canvas gives the exact look and feel of an original oil painting. Canvas prints are tougher and far more durable than paper prints. Our Giclee prints are sold in two flavors, either mounted on hardboard, ready to frame, or Gallery Wrap.

Giclee's are laboratory rated to provide several decades, if not a century or more of lasting print quality. Giclee fine art reproductions are recognized as "the next best thing to owning original artwork" and they can be found on display in the world's finest museums and art galleries.
